A Place to Learn & Grow

Activities in the Learning Garden
GROW WITH YOUR FAMILY
We welcome volunteers with families to come join us. Please reach out and let us answer your questions. Bring your own gloves and tools if you wish. There is always something new happening and so much to learn. New and wonderful experiences abound. Plant potatoes, snip herbs, propagate grapes, clean gourds for birdhouses. We are always up to something exciting.
COME TO AN EVENT
This year we were able to bring back classes in the garden and around town thanks to a wonderful grant, the Tacoma Library, and Tacoma Creates. Volunteers helped to make a felt board and craft the resources for the Pollinator Parade. It was so much fun for all the kids who joined us in the Gallucci Learning Garden. The Mottet Branch hosts Master Gardener Mary as she teaches the Pollinator Parade to a new crowd of eager learners. Check out our events page for what's going on next.
CHECK OUT SOME GARDEN STORIES
If you're a parent with curious kids, the garden is the perfect place to bring all their questions! In the meantime, here are some books we know you can find in the Tacoma library to learn about gardening, plants, and nature activities with your family. This list was curated to provide science-minded content.
